Adhesive Wood-Effect Roll Holder

Stainless steel with a wood-effect finish, fixed with adhesive rather than screws. That matters in a rented flat, in a bathroom with tiled walls you would rather not drill, or anywhere the pipework behind the plaster is a mystery. The wall receiver sticks on and the holder clips to it, which also means the holder lifts off for cleaning and can be repositioned if the first attempt is slightly out of level.

Three forms are offered from the same fitting. The toilet roll holder takes standard and larger rolls on an open arm, so a roll drops on without threading. The kitchen roll holder is the longer version for a worktop wall or the inside of a cupboard door. The double-ended hook takes a towel, a dressing gown or a bag, and works in a hallway as readily as a bathroom.

Four finishes are offered: black, white, walnut and elm, so the fitting can either disappear against the wall or pick up the timber tones elsewhere in the room. The adhesive is intended for smooth non-porous surfaces such as tile, glass, metal, marble and sealed paint, and will not hold reliably on textured wallpaper or bare plaster. Clean the surface thoroughly before fixing and leave it to bond before loading.
