Amber Leopard Print Wine Glass

Amber glass has come back around, and this is one of the better interpretations of it: a warm honey tone with a raised leopard-spot texture worked into the bowl so the surface catches light in patches rather than evenly. Held up against a candle or a lamp it does something genuinely lovely, throwing dappled amber shadows onto the tablecloth.

Two shapes are available. The short glass is squat and wide, sitting somewhere between a tumbler and a stemless wine glass, which makes it as suitable for a negroni or a whisky as for wine. The tall version has more height in the bowl and reads as a more formal wine glass, though the texture keeps it from feeling stuffy. A mixed set of both looks deliberately collected rather than bought as a matching six.

The glass is thick-walled, which is what allows the raised pattern to be moulded in properly, and it gives the pieces a reassuring weight that thin stemware never has. Hand washing is strongly recommended: the textured surface holds detergent residue in a dishwasher and the amber tone stays richer without repeated hot cycles. Not suitable for hot liquids or the freezer. Sold individually, so you can build a set at your own pace.
