Aurora and Ripple Projector Lamp

Turn the main light off and this fills a ceiling with slow moving light. The ripple version throws the pattern you get on a pool floor on a bright day, drifting across plaster in wide overlapping bands; the aurora version is broader and softer, layered sheets of colour that fold over one another. Either one changes the whole feel of a room far more cheaply than repainting it.

The head tilts through a wide arc so you can aim it at a ceiling, a blank wall or the corner where the two meet, which is where the pattern looks best. Rotation speed and brightness are both adjustable, and turned right down it works as a night light rather than a display. It is compact enough to live on a bedside table, a shelf or a floor beside a sofa.

It runs from a USB lead - use a UK-approved mains adapter, which is not supplied, or a power bank. Do not stare directly into the projector head. Keep the unit and its cable out of reach of small children and pets, and route the lead where it cannot be pulled or tripped over. Set it a metre or so back from the surface you are lighting, and give the pattern a plain wall or ceiling to land on rather than a busy one.
