Bamboo and Iron Touch Night Lamp

Bedside lamps tend to be either too bright to sit beside or too dim to be useful. This one solves that with a touch-dimmable version that runs continuously from a faint glow up to full output, so you can set it exactly where you want it and leave it there. Tap the body to switch, hold to dim; there is no switch on a cable to hunt for in the dark.

The construction is iron and bamboo, a round shade above a warm timber element, which is what keeps it from looking like a piece of office equipment. It is small at roughly thirteen centimetres wide and fifteen tall, so it fits a crowded nightstand alongside a book and a glass of water. The LED draws three watts for around three hundred lumens, enough to read a few pages by without waking anyone else in the room.

Two designs are offered, and you can choose either the simple fixed warm white version or the 1600mAh rechargeable touch-dimmable one. Both charge over USB, so there is no mains flex and nothing to trip over between the bed and the wall. Use a UK-approved USB mains adapter or a laptop port; an adapter is not supplied. Wipe the bamboo with a barely damp cloth and never soak it.
