Bottle Form Cordless Table Lamp

Restaurants worked this out years ago: a small cordless lamp on each table does more for an evening than any amount of overhead lighting. These three take the idea literally, shaped as a decanter, a wine bottle and a wine glass, each in metal with a warm glow rising from the top. On a dining table they give exactly the pool of light a meal wants and nothing else.

The three silhouettes are close enough in height to group together and different enough to be worth mixing. The decanter is the widest at 17 x 31cm, the wine bottle the tallest and slimmest at 11 x 30cm, and the wine glass the shortest at 14 x 28cm. A run of all three down the centre of a long table reads as a deliberate arrangement rather than a set of lamps.

Each has a built-in battery, so there is no cable to route around a table and nothing to unplug when the table is cleared. That also makes them useful well beyond the dining room — a bedside, a windowsill, a hall console, a garden table on a still evening. The metal body is solid enough not to be knocked over easily. Charge indoors on a hard surface using a UK-approved mains adapter, which is not supplied, and never charge under cushions or bedding.
