Dragon Claw Goblet

A goblet built around a sculpted resin claw that cradles a clear glass bowl, standing 21.5cm high on a 10cm base. It holds roughly 350ml, so it works as a wine glass, but the proportions are deliberately theatrical and it earns its place as much sat on a shelf as it does on a table. Two finishes are offered: matt black and an antique gold.

The bowl is glass and the stem and base are cast resin, which is what allows the level of detail in the scales and the talons. The weight sits low in the base, so it is more stable on a table than the shape suggests. As a single dramatic piece on a bar cart or a bookshelf it does more work than a matching set of six ever would.

Hand wash only, in warm water with a soft cloth — a dishwasher will lift the finish from the resin. Do not put it in a microwave or an oven, and avoid pouring anything very hot into the bowl. Keep it out of reach of small children, and stand it well back from a shelf edge, since the tall stem makes it easy to catch with a sleeve. Rinse and dry it soon after use rather than leaving wine standing in the bowl overnight.
