Golden Figure Cordless Table Lamp

Part sculpture, part lamp — a small gold figure holds up the light source, and the whole thing works as an ornament whether it is switched on or not. It is the sort of piece that reads as a design object on a shelf during the day and turns into a soft pool of light on a bedside table after dark, which is more use than either a lamp or a figurine on its own.

Six poses are offered: three standing and three sitting, each holding the light at a slightly different angle. The standing figures throw light a little higher and suit a shelf or a hall console; the sitting ones sit lower and are better beside a bed or on a desk. The finish is a rust-resistant gold coating over a resin and alloy body, matt enough not to glare under its own light.

A 2000mAh cell gives around twelve hours from a full charge, and the whole lamp charges over USB, so there is no flex trailing across a table and it can be moved wherever it is wanted. The 3W LED has three brightness levels selected by touch: low for a nightlight, medium for atmosphere and full for reading. Use a UK-approved USB mains adapter, which is not supplied. Charge indoors on a hard surface, never under bedding or cushions.
