Handwoven Knot Cushion

A knot cushion does something a flat square never manages: it gives a sofa a bit of three-dimensional interest without adding pattern or colour noise. This one is woven and tied by hand from a soft plush yarn, so the twist of the knot holds its shape properly instead of sagging into a lump after a fortnight. Set against a plain linen sofa or a made bed, it reads as texture rather than as clutter.

Two sizes are offered. The small at thirty by thirty-three centimetres is the one to reach for on a reading chair or as a lumbar support behind the back. The medium at forty by forty is closer to a standard scatter cushion and works better in a pair at either end of a three-seater. Both are twelve centimetres deep, so they sit up rather than flattening out.

Ten colours cover the usual neutrals - white, light grey, dark grey, caramel and brown - plus pink, green, orange and two blues for rooms that can take it. The yarn is dense and wear-resistant, which matters on a cushion that gets picked up and moved constantly. Spot clean gently and reshape the knot by hand while damp.
