High Gloss Ceramic Mushroom Table Lamp

The mushroom silhouette still works because the proportions are so simple: a rounded glazed base, a frosted dome over it, nothing else competing for attention. This one is 22cm high and 20cm in diameter, a scale that suits a bedside table, a console or the corner of a desk rather than a full-height side table. Six high gloss colours are offered - pink, dark red, red, orange, green and white - so it can either echo a scheme or interrupt it.

An integrated LED rated at 11-15W does the work, with three colour temperature settings so the light shifts from warm to cool to suit the room. The frosted dome diffuses the output, softening the edge of the light. An inline switch on the flex keeps the control within easy reach, and the lamp runs on 220-240V mains supply. It is designed for indoor use only, and carries CE and CCC marking.

A little care at setup pays off. The lamp is supplied for 220-240V mains, so if the fitted plug is not a UK three-pin type, have a UK plug fitted by a competent person or use a UK-approved adapter before switching on. Ceramic and glass are fragile by nature, so place the lamp on a level surface where it will not be knocked. Route the flex away from the table edge and out of reach of children and pets, and wipe the glaze with a soft dry cloth.
