Koi Form Coloured Glass Set

Glassware rarely gets to be sculpture, which is what makes these worth the shelf space. Each glass is formed as a koi curving up out of the base, the body rippling into the wall of the vessel and the tail flaring at the foot, so the shape you drink from is the shape of the fish. Filled with water the tint deepens and the ripples catch light exactly the way moving water does.

The aqua tint is in the glass itself rather than applied to the surface, so it will not wear off at the rim or fade with washing. They take water, iced tea, a long cocktail or anything else where you want the drink to be seen, and on a laid table they do more work than any centrepiece - a set of these at each place is the decoration.

These are hand-formed, so no two are identical in the exact curve of the body or the thickness of the wall. Wash by hand in warm water rather than in a dishwasher, where the shaped foot is vulnerable, and do not use them for hot liquids. Store them upright with space between rather than nested, and keep them back from counter edges.
