Lightweight Cooling Summer Blanket

Most blankets are designed for the three months of the year when you want to be warmer. This one is for the other side of the problem. It is woven from a fine breathable polyester with a smooth, cool-to-the-touch surface, so it gives you something over you on a hot night without the trapped heat that comes with a duvet or a fleece throw.

It weighs only two hundred to two hundred and fifty grams, which is roughly a quarter of a conventional throw, and that lightness is the whole point: it drapes closely, moves with you and dries quickly if the night is humid. Measuring one hundred and twenty-seven by one hundred and fifty-two centimetres, it covers one adult comfortably on a sofa or lies across the top of a double bed as a summer layer over a sheet.

Five colours are offered, from light and dark grey through to pink, light blue and navy, all easy to live with in a bedroom or a living room. It packs down small enough to keep in a bag for travel, a caravan or a summer picnic. Machine wash at thirty degrees with similar colours and air dry or tumble dry cool; high heat will damage the finish that makes it cool in the first place.
