Ombia Ribbed Acrylic Pendant Light

The Ombia sets a rounded drum shade on a slim white stem, with fine vertical ribs running the full height of the shade. The 35cm form is wide and low rather than tall, so it fills the space above a table without blocking the view across a room. The plain white finish keeps the fitting quiet in a pale scheme and reads as a soft, simple shape against darker walls. It is a shade that does its work by proportion rather than by detail.

Light leaves through the whole surface of the ribbed acrylic, so the shade glows evenly instead of pushing a bright spot down onto the table. The ribs catch the light along their edges and give the drum depth once it is lit. An integrated SMD LED is fitted, and the wall switch steps through three colour settings, which allows a cooler tone for cooking and a warmer one for sitting down to eat. The fitting is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms.

The cord is adjustable to a drop of up to 150cm, which means Ombia can hang low over a kitchen island or sit higher in a bedroom or hallway where headroom matters. Set the drop before the final fixing and check the shade clears any wall cupboard on the swing. Because the colour setting is stepped from the wall switch, choose a switch position that is easy to reach. Wipe the acrylic with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.
