Pastoral Plush Cushion and Runner Covers

A retro pastoral floral printed onto a thick plush, made up as both cushion covers and long sofa runners so a seat and its cushions can be dressed from one design. The pile is deep enough to hold the print softly rather than sharply, which is what gives the pattern its slightly faded, second-hand-bookshop quality rather than a hard printed look.

Three colourways are offered: stone drift, a muted grey-green; crimson crest, which is much warmer and reads almost as a vintage rose print; and blush embrace, the palest of the three. Sizes run from a 45cm cushion cover through 50cm and 60cm squares to a 70cm floor cushion size, with 50 by 160cm and 60 by 160cm runners for a sofa seat or a bench.

A non-slip backing keeps the runners in place on a leather or a smooth fabric sofa, which is the usual failure point of a loose throw over a seat. Covers only, without inserts. Machine washable at 30 degrees; wash separately for the first cycle and dry on a low heat, since a deep pile mats permanently at high temperatures and cannot be brought back once it has gone. Buy the insert one size larger than the cover for a properly plump cushion rather than a slack one.
