Slim Disc LED Pendant Light

A flat disc pendant, 30cm across but only about 5cm deep, hung from a slim drop so that it reads as a horizontal plane rather than a shade. The thinness is the whole idea: over a dining table or a kitchen island it lights the surface generously without blocking the view across the room, which is the usual compromise with a deeper pendant.

Each of the three finishes comes in two versions. The fixed warm white version is a straightforward switched fitting. The dimming version ships with a remote handset that adjusts brightness continuously, which is useful over a table that is used for both homework and dinner. Coverage is around ten to fifteen square metres, and the fitting accepts a wide 90-260V supply with the LED integrated into the body.

White suits a plain ceiling and disappears into it, black gives far more definition against pale plaster, and blue works as a deliberate accent in a kitchen or a child's bedroom. Dust the flat face with a dry cloth once it has cooled. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting: installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician on an isolated circuit, using a ceiling fixing rated for the weight of the light.
