Spread Wing Eagle Sculpture

An eagle mid-landing, wings thrown wide and head turned to the side, is one of those shapes that fills a shelf without needing anything beside it. This piece is cast at 22 by 33 by 9.5 centimetres, which is large enough to command a console table or a mantelpiece but small enough to sit on a bookcase without crowding the shelf above. The wingspan is the whole point, so give it clear space either side.

The casting is resin, finished by hand so the feather detail stays sharp across each wing rather than blurring into a smooth surface. Four finishes are offered: a warm antique gold, a matt black that reads as iron, a clean white for lighter rooms, and a gold body with blue-toned wings for something less expected. All four are solid enough to work against dark panelling or plain plaster.

Weighted through the base, it sits stable on polished wood without a stand. Resin holds detail far better than moulded plastic and will not tarnish the way plated metal does. Dust it with a dry brush rather than a cloth so the finish stays crisp in the deeper recesses between the feathers, where a cloth simply cannot reach.
