Bands of colour run the length of this throw in the manner of a traditional serape, each stripe a different width so the pattern never settles into a grid. Knotted fringes finish both short ends. Eleven colourways run from coffee and black through royal blue, sea blue and lilac to yellow and light pink, which means it can either disappear into a scheme or be the loudest thing in the room.
The cloth is woven from polyester, which gives it a light drape and a tight weave that resists snagging on wicker and rattan. Two sizes are offered: 130 by 170 centimetres and 120 by 180 centimetres, the first squarer and better across a sofa back, the second longer and easier to wrap around a chair or take to a picnic. Both weigh little enough to fold into a basket.
Machine wash cool and dry flat; a hot wash and a hot tumble will both shorten the life of the fringe, which is best combed straight with fingers while damp. The colours are woven rather than printed, so they run right through the cloth and will not fade to grey on the reverse. Keep it clear of open flames and barbecues when it goes outdoors, and store it dry.
