Whale Children's Night Light

A plump little whale, 15cm nose to tail, made from soft silicone over an ABS base. Pressed gently it lights from within, and the silicone spreads the glow so evenly that the whole body appears to be the light source. It stays cool in the hand and has enough weight, at around 300g, to sit steadily on the edge of a bedside table without sliding away when the duvet is pulled across.

Eight colours are available from the same control: a warm amber for settling down, and cooler blues and greens for a bit of fun before lights out. A single charge over the supplied USB cable runs it for up to nine hours, comfortably covering a full night at a low setting. There is no plug at the bedside and no batteries to change, which keeps the area around a child's bed clear.

It suits a nursery, a shared bedroom or a landing where a little light helps at night. Clean the silicone with a barely damp cloth and let it dry fully before charging. This is a lamp, not a toy - keep it out of reach of babies, supervise younger children, and keep the charging cable away from cots and beds.
