Acrylic Floating Magazine Rack

A clear acrylic ledge that fixes to the wall and holds magazines, books or records face out, with the front lip low enough that the covers do the decorating. Because the acrylic is transparent, the shelf itself almost disappears and the eye reads the covers as if they were floating - which is the whole reason to choose acrylic over a painted timber ledge.

Three widths are offered: 60cm for a narrow stretch beside a door, 80cm for a standard wall panel, and 100cm for a longer run above a desk or a sofa. All three are 15cm high, deep enough to hold a stack securely without swallowing the covers. Several can be run one above another at even spacing to build a display wall from a collection that would otherwise sit in a pile.

It works in a living room, a home office, a child's bedroom for picture books, or a hallway for the post. Clean the acrylic with a soft cloth and a little warm soapy water - never with alcohol or a solvent cleaner, both of which will craze the surface. Fix into a sound wall with a fixing rated for the weight of a full shelf.
