Adjustable Iron Spotlight Ceiling Light

A single black iron spotlight on a swivelling head, twenty centimetres across and twenty-three tall. The whole point is that you can aim it: at a bookcase, at a run of artwork, at a kitchen worktop or at a wall you want to wash with light rather than at whoever happens to be standing underneath. Fixed ceiling lights cannot do that, and in a room with a particular thing worth looking at, it matters.

The look is honest workshop rather than decorative industrial. Plain painted iron, a visible joint at the head, no fake rivets or distressed finish. That makes it easy to use in numbers, two or three across a long wall, without the ceiling starting to look busy. It suits a study, a hallway with pictures, a converted loft or a kitchen where you want light on the worktop and not in your eyes.

It takes one E14 lamp, not supplied, so you choose the beam and the colour temperature. A narrow-beam warm LED gives the most useful result for accent lighting. The fitting is CE marked and runs on 220 to 240 volt mains. It is hardwired to a ceiling point and rated for dry indoor locations, so installation is a job for a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated first.
