Aira Pleated Arc Floor Lamp 155cm

The Aira is built around one detail: a deeply pleated 40cm shade that breaks the light into soft vertical bands instead of letting it out in a flat disc. It sits at the end of a gently curved stem 155cm tall, and the head rotates through roughly 180 degrees, so you can aim it down over a chair, straight out across a room, or up at the ceiling for indirect light.

That adjustability is what makes it flexible enough to move house with you. Turned down it is a reading lamp; turned up it washes a ceiling and makes a low room feel taller. The weighted base keeps it stable with the head fully extended, and a foot switch on the cable means the controls are always where your foot already is rather than somewhere up the stem.

Three finishes are offered: a soft beige that disappears into pale walls, a warm gold for rooms that already carry brass, and a matt black for a sharper look. It takes a standard E26 or E27 screw-fit bulb up to 40W incandescent equivalent, so a 5W LED is ample. Indoor use only; wipe the metal with a dry cloth and brush the pleats.
