Amber Crystal Ceiling Light

An oval bowl dome in amber glass, set with crystal prisms around the rim, fixed to a round ceiling plate. It is a small fitting rather than a chandelier, which makes it a practical choice for a hallway, a landing or a small bedroom where a hanging light would be in the way. The amber tint warms whatever bulb is fitted, so even a neutral LED comes out golden.

Three sizes are offered at roughly eighteen, sixteen and fifteen centimetres across, priced accordingly. The largest suits a landing or a small bedroom; the smaller two work well in a run down a corridor, where three or four spaced evenly along the ceiling give a much better effect than one fitting on its own. All three use the same glass, the same prisms and the same ceiling plate.

The fitting takes an E27 screw bulb, which can be LED, incandescent or fluorescent, and runs on two hundred and twenty to two hundred and forty volts. Bulbs are not supplied. Fit only to a ceiling point rated for the weight of the fixture. As with all mains ceiling fittings, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated at the consumer unit.
