Anatomical Heart Sculptural Vase

A vase modelled on the form of an anatomical heart, cast in resin with the chambers and vessels rendered as smooth sculptural curves rather than anything clinical. Stems go into the openings at the top, which means the piece reads differently depending on what is in it - bare, it is a sculpture; filled with dried grasses, it becomes a considered arrangement on a mantelpiece or a shelf.

Two sizes are offered. The small stands 15cm high, 12cm wide and 8cm deep, which suits a bookshelf or a bedside table; the large is 25 x 19 x 12cm and holds its own on a sideboard or a hall console. Three colours are available - a matt white that emphasises the shape, a soft pink, and a black that turns it into more of a silhouette.

The resin is not waterproof, so this is a vase for dried and preserved stems rather than fresh flowers standing in water, and a liner will not make it safe to fill. Dust with a dry, soft brush and wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed, avoiding solvents which will mark the finish. No medical or anatomical accuracy is claimed and no health or educational function is intended - it is a decorative object.
