Antler Wall Hooks

A cast antler that works as a hook, measuring 28cm across and projecting 9.5cm from the wall. The branching form gives several points to hang from rather than the single peg most decorative hooks offer, so a coat, a scarf and a bag can share one fixing. Two finishes are available: a pale beige that keeps it light against plaster, and a warmer brown.

Cast in resin rather than being anything taken from an animal, it holds the texture and the taper of the real thing without the weight or the fragility. On a hallway wall it does the useful part of the job while reading as an ornament rather than as hardware, which matters in an entrance where a plain row of pegs looks like an afterthought.

Fix it into a solid substrate with the correct plugs for your wall type, since a loaded coat hook takes more strain than its own weight suggests. Check for concealed pipes and cables before drilling. Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Hung in a row of two or three at staggered heights, they suit a long hallway better than a single hook does, and the staggered heights stop the wall reading as a utility rail rather than a piece of decoration.
