Arc IP65 Outdoor Wall Light 27cm

The arc is the whole design. Instead of a box on a wall, this fitting is a curved aluminium blade twenty-seven centimetres long that stands a little proud at the centre and tapers at both ends, throwing light up and down the wall in two soft fans. On a plain elevation that pair of beams does more for the look of a house at night than a brighter fitting aimed straight out ever would.

Aluminium is the sensible material for an exterior light because it sheds heat from the LED and resists corrosion, and the black powder coat here is thick enough to survive a coastal winter. The rating is IP65, which means dust tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so the fitting can go on an exposed wall, a porch, a courtyard or a garden boundary.

Two wattages and two colour temperatures are offered. Eighteen watts suits a doorway or a narrow passage; thirty-six is better on a wide elevation or where the fitting is the only light in a courtyard. Warm white is the more flattering outdoors, cold white is the more practical for security or a work area. All versions are hardwired at mains voltage and are not dimmable.
