Basalo Black Travertine Cylinder Pendant

The Basalo hangs a single cylinder of natural black travertine over a worktop, a bedside table or a hallway console. The stone tube is cut from one piece and finished with a wood collar at the top, so the fitting reads as a quiet architectural detail rather than a decorative light. Travertine carries its own pitting and fine veining, which means no two shades come out identical.

Light leaves the open base as a soft downward pool, with a warm reflection off the inner face of the stone giving a focused beam that suits a small surface without flooding a whole room. The shade measures 6.5 cm in diameter. Basalo takes a standard screw-fit bulb up to 40W, or the LED equivalent, and it will run through a dimmer switch if one is already fitted.

Because the beam is narrow, Basalo works best hung low over a defined surface, or in a run of two or three along an island or a worktop. The 150 cm flex can be shortened at installation to set the drop, and the fixing suits sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees. The fitting is hardwired, so a qualified electrician should make the connection. Dust the stone with a dry soft cloth.
