Botanical Floral Fabric Table Lamp

Patterned shades have come back round, and this is a gentle way into them. A printed botanical fabric is stretched over an iron frame, so the flowers sit flat and clear when the lamp is off and glow softly through the weave when it is on. The effect is closer to a piece of textile than a lighting fixture, which is the point.

Two prints are offered. Whimsy Bloom is looser and more scattered, with sprigs across a pale ground. Garden Meadow is denser and reads as a wash of colour from across a room. Both sit comfortably against painted walls, wallpaper and wood, and both look at home in a cottage bedroom, a reading corner, a dressing table or a bookshelf that needs a bit of colour.

The frame is iron with a PVC-backed shade and a simple on-off switch on the flex, so it can be reached without groping behind furniture. It is the kind of lamp that makes a room feel finished rather than lit. Supplied for 220-240V mains: if the fitted plug is not a UK three-pin type, have a UK plug fitted or use a UK-approved adapter. Dust the shade with a soft brush and keep it away from water.
