Brass Finish Tissue Box

A tissue box is one of the few objects that has to sit out permanently in a room and is almost always ugly. This one is stainless steel with a warm brass finish, 12cm square and 6cm deep, with a generous opening across the top rather than a mean slot, so a tissue comes out cleanly instead of tearing in half.

Because it is metal rather than card or plastic it holds its shape, wipes clean, and does not go soft in a steamy bathroom. The square footprint takes up little room on a side table, a desk corner, a bedside cabinet or a windowsill, and it is heavy enough not to be dragged about when someone pulls a tissue out in a hurry.

The Scandinavian styling keeps it plain: no embossing, no pattern, just the finish and the proportions. It also works for anything else that needs a small covered box on show, from cotton pads in a bathroom to odds and ends on a desk. Suits homes, offices, holiday lets, campervans and guest rooms. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry it; avoid abrasive pads, which will scratch the finish. Standard rectangular tissue boxes drop straight in, and refills lift out of their card sleeve first.
