Brass Wall Hooks, Set of Five

Five wall hooks, sold as a set, for a hallway, a bedroom or the back of a door. Each stands 10cm high and 5cm wide, which is the useful size: long enough that a heavy winter coat hangs clear of the wall rather than bunching against it, short enough that it does not become an obstacle at head height. The profile is a simple curve with no decoration, so they disappear into a wall and let the coats be the thing you notice.

Two materials are offered. The gold version is brass with a gold coating, which gives the warm tone that suits a painted hallway and a wooden floor. The black version is anodised aluminium, lighter in the hand and better suited to a cooler, more industrial scheme. Both are solid metal rather than plated plastic, so the hook does not flex when weight goes on it and the finish does not chip away at the bend where a strap rubs.

Mounting materials are supplied. Space them 15 to 20cm apart for coats, closer if they are for bags and hats, and fix into a plug rather than plasterboard alone if anything heavy will hang there. A set of five covers a typical hall run; buy two sets for a family. Because they arrive as five separate hooks rather than a fixed rail, you can set the spacing to suit your wall.
