Bulldog Statue with Catch-All Bowl

Every household has a spot where keys, coins and stray earrings pile up. This cast resin bulldog offers to take charge of it, sitting patiently with a shallow bowl held out in front of him for whatever comes out of your pockets at the end of the day. He stands 18cm high and 19cm deep, which is enough presence to be noticed on a hall console or a shelf by the door without taking over the surface entirely.

Two finishes are available. The green has a soft, weathered, garden-statuary character that sits well against timber and older paintwork, while the black is flatter and more graphic, and works better in a modern hallway or beside a dark-framed mirror. Cast resin holds the detail of the modelling crisply, from the folds of the face down to the set of the paws, and it is a good deal lighter to move around than the stone it imitates.

He is happy indoors and also copes with sheltered outdoor use, tucked into a porch, a covered doorway or a veranda corner where the worst of the weather cannot reach him. Keep him clear of standing water and out of open exposure. As a hand-finished piece, small variations in colour and surface are part of the character and not a flaw, so no two arrive looking quite identical.
