Capybara Silicone Night Light

A capybara moulded in soft silicone with the LED inside it, so the whole animal glows evenly and there is no bright point to look at. The silicone gives slightly under a hand, which is the reason these work for small children - the light is something to hold rather than something to be careful around, and it is warm rather than cold to the touch.

It stands 16.5 centimetres tall on a 9.8 by 11 centimetre base, which is big enough to be companionable on a nightstand and small enough to be carried to the bathroom and back. A tap anywhere on the body switches it on and off and steps through the brightness levels, so there is no switch for a half-asleep child to hunt for in the dark and nothing fiddly to operate.

The 800mAh battery is built in and recharges over USB at 5V, giving a long run between charges at a low setting. Please note this is a lamp, not a toy. It should be supervised with very young children, kept off the floor where it can be trodden on, and not left in a cot. The silicone wipes clean with a damp cloth; do not immerse it. The lithium battery is not user-replaceable, so recycle the whole unit at a WEEE point at end of life.
