Ceramic Pour Over Coffee Dripper

A ceramic cone dripper for hand-brewed coffee, 117mm across in every direction and weighing 279g. Ceramic is the traditional choice for a reason: it holds heat through the brew, so the water temperature does not drop the way it does in a thin plastic cone, and that stability is most of what separates a good pour-over from a thin, sour one.

The inside is moulded with raised ribs that hold the paper away from the wall, letting air escape as the bed saturates and keeping the flow even from the first pour to the last. A drip guard at the spout stops the last few drops running down the outside onto the worktop. It brews one to four cups and takes a standard number 2 filter paper.

Sit it directly on a mug for a single cup, or on a carafe or a jug when brewing a pot for two or three people. Rinse the paper with hot water before adding coffee to warm the ceramic and wash out any paper taste. Hand wash in warm water; ceramic this thick is best kept out of a dishwasher, where knocks chip the rim. Filter papers and a carafe are not supplied.
