ChromaCraft Colour Ceiling Light 30cm

A shallow flush-mount ceiling light, 30cm across, with a coloured iron rim and a flat acrylic diffuser. It hugs the ceiling rather than dropping into the room, which makes it the sensible answer in a hallway, a landing or a bedroom with a low ceiling, and the coloured rim gives it a little more character than the usual plain white disc.

Two versions are available for each colour. The cool white version is a simple on-off fitting at a fixed colour temperature, suited to a utility room, a hallway or anywhere the light is switched at the wall. The dimmable version comes with a remote handset that adjusts brightness continuously and steps the colour temperature, which is the better choice for a bedroom or a room used at different times of day.

Seven rim colours are offered, from plain white and black through to blue, pink, green, grey and yellow, so a set can be matched across several rooms or used to pick up an accent. Wipe the diffuser with a dry cloth once the fitting has cooled, and avoid solvent cleaners on the coloured rim. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting and should be installed by a qualified electrician working on a circuit isolated at the consumer unit.
