Classical Bust Resin Sculpture 30cm

A classical male head in the Renaissance tradition, cast in resin and cropped at the collarbone in the manner of the plaster casts that have sat in drawing studios for two centuries. The hair is deeply undercut and the jaw and brow are sharply defined, which is what gives a piece like this its presence: it reads at a distance as a silhouette and rewards a closer look with detail.

It stands 30 centimetres tall on an 18 by 10 centimetre base, large enough to anchor a shelf on its own and small enough to move with one hand. Three finishes are offered. White is the studio original and the quietest; black turns the whole thing into a shape and suits a dark room; gold is the loudest of the three and works best against plain plaster or paint.

Resin is solid but it is not stone, so it will chip at the nose and the edge of the base if it falls. Stand it on a level surface with its weight well inside the footprint, not overhanging a shelf edge, and keep it clear of anywhere a door or a passing bag might catch it. Dust with a soft dry brush and avoid solvents, abrasives and prolonged direct sun.
