Compact Half-Moon Wall Light 18cm

Eighteen centimetres tall and ten deep, which makes this one of the smallest wall lights worth fitting. The half-moon form throws light up and down the wall in two soft arcs rather than straight out into the room, so it lights a surface rather than a face. In a small bedroom, a box room, a landing or a downstairs cloakroom that is usually exactly what is wanted.

Because it covers only three to five square metres, it works best used in numbers or in support of something else: a pair flanking a mirror, three spaced along a corridor, or one beside a door where the ceiling light is on the wrong side of the room. The iron body keeps it solid without adding bulk, and the shallow projection means it can go in a passage where people brush past the wall.

Three finishes are offered. White disappears against plaster, gold adds warmth and works with brass fittings, and champagne sits between the two, soft rather than bright. Each comes in warm or cold white, so the tone can be matched to the room. It is CE and CCC certified, runs on 220 to 230 volt mains, and is hardwired for dry indoor locations only. Some assembly is required and installation is a job for a qualified electrician.
