Corduroy Cushion Cover 45cm

Corduroy is having a long moment in interiors and the reason is texture rather than fashion: the ribs catch light along their length, so a plain colour reads as two or three tones depending on where you are standing. On a sofa that gives a cushion far more presence than a flat weave in the same shade, without needing a pattern to do it.

These are covers only, forty-five by forty-five centimetres, with the insert not included, which is the sensible way to buy if you already own pads and want to change a room for the price of the fabric. A concealed zip runs along one edge so nothing interrupts the ribbing on either face, and both sides are corduroy rather than one side being a cheaper backing cloth.

Nine colours are offered, which covers most rooms: dark grey and beige for a neutral scheme, blue and green for something cooler, pink and yellow for a lift, wine red for depth in winter, and white and light green for a paler setting. They mix well in twos and threes on a long sofa. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, do not bleach and do not iron the pile.
