Cotton Ball LED String Lights

Bare fairy lights give you points of light; cotton balls give you a soft glow with a shape to it. Each ball is wound by hand from cotton thread over a form, then dried and lifted off, leaving an open lattice that diffuses the LED inside and casts a faint web of shadow on the wall behind.

The string runs 1.5 metres and carries ten warm-white lamps. Nine colourways are offered, from bright Candy and Macaron mixes through to single-tone Ocean Blue, Sky Blue, Stone Grey and Lavender, with Burgundy and a Rose and Grey pairing in between. The LEDs are low-voltage and stay cool to the touch, and the cable is thin enough to pin around a mirror, a headboard or a shelf edge without looking like wiring.

Choose USB power for a permanent spot near a socket or battery power for a mantelpiece or a shelf with no outlet nearby (batteries not included). These are decorative indoor lights: keep them away from curtains and bedding, do not cover the balls, switch them off when you leave the room, and keep them out of reach of young children and pets. Because the balls are handmade, each string differs slightly in size and density, and the light they give is softer and less directional than a bare bulb string.
