Crystal and Metal Corridor Ceiling Light

Corridors rarely get a proper light. They get whatever was cheapest at the time, usually a flat disc that flattens the space further. This one takes the opposite approach: a small cluster of cut crystal held in a metal frame, seventeen centimetres tall and barely thirteen across, that scatters light onto the walls instead of dumping it straight down. In a narrow hallway that difference is the whole effect.

The scale is deliberate. At this size it fits a low ceiling, a stair landing, a porch lobby or the awkward stretch of ceiling outside a bathroom door without looming. Square and round base plates are offered so it can follow the geometry of the room, and the finish comes in black for a sharper, more graphic look or gold where the corridor already has warm timber or brass in it. The crystal does the decorative work; the frame stays out of the way.

It takes a standard E27 lamp, which is not supplied, so you can choose the tone and brightness that suits the space. A warm, clear filament-style LED shows the crystal facets best. This is a hardwired fitting for a ceiling point and needs to be fitted properly, and it is rated for dry indoor locations only, so it belongs in a hallway rather than over a bath or shower.
