Crystal Drum Hallway Ceiling Light

Cut crystal usually arrives attached to something enormous. This fitting takes the same material and shrinks it to a 13cm drum on a brass frame, 17cm deep, which is small enough for a hallway ceiling, a landing or a downstairs cloakroom. The crystal refracts the light into small bright points on the surrounding ceiling, so a modest fitting still does something interesting to the space. In a narrow hallway that sparkle does most of the decorative work, which saves you having to find wall space for artwork.

It comes as a square drum or a round one. Square suits a hall with rectangular geometry and panelled doors; round softens a plainer space. The brass frame is finished in black for contrast against a white ceiling, gold for warmth, or silver where the rest of the ironmongery is chrome or nickel. All six combinations are the same price.

It takes a standard E27 screw-fit bulb, which means you choose the output and the colour temperature. A warm filament-style LED suits a hallway; something brighter works in a utility area. Coverage is roughly 5-15 square metres depending on the bulb. It is rated IP20 for dry rooms, needs assembly, and being a mains fitting it should be wired in by an electrician.
