Curled Metal Twin Wall Sconce

The arm curls away from the wall and back on itself, carrying two lamps at different points along the curve. It is a drawn line more than a fitting, and against a plain painted wall that line is the whole effect. The metalwork is black and matte throughout, with no bright fixings to interrupt the shape, and the two lamps sit far enough apart to light a broad section of wall rather than a single spot.

Two heights are offered. The thirty-three centimetre version is the everyday choice, suiting a hallway, a landing or the wall beside a sofa. The fifty-three centimetre is a more serious piece, tall enough to hold a stairwell wall or a double-height space where a small sconce would look lost. Both project only thirteen to fourteen centimetres, so neither is an obstacle in a corridor where people pass close to the wall.

It takes two E27 lamps, not supplied, so the character depends on what you fit. Clear filament-style LEDs suit the exposed arrangement and keep the fitting looking deliberate rather than unfinished; frosted lamps give a softer result. This is a hardwired fitting for a wall point, rated for dry indoor locations only, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated at the consumer unit.
