Dafo Antique Outdoor Wall Light

The Dafo Antique Outdoor Wall Light from Lockhone takes the shape of a traditional station lantern and hangs it from a curved swan-neck arm. A flared bell-shaped shade in patinated black sits above a clear domed diffuser, so the bulb stays visible and the light falls downward onto a doorstep, porch or garden gate. The brushed patina finish gives the metal a lived-in depth that suits period brickwork, cottage render and painted timber alike.

At 44.2 cm tall with a 24.5 cm shade and a 35.5 cm projection from the wall, it reads as a substantial fitting without dominating a doorway. The body is aluminium with a polycarbonate dome, so it weighs only 1.3 kg and puts very little load on the fixing. An IP44 rating covers it against splashing water from any direction, which is what a sheltered wall position calls for, and the shaped decorative wall plate measures 12 cm by 15 cm.

The lantern takes one screw-fit bulb up to 60 W, supplied to suit the destination with an E27 (ES) fitting on UK orders and E26 on US orders. Bulbs are not included, so a warm filament LED can be chosen to suit the clear dome, and the fitting is dimmable when wired through a compatible external dimmer. It runs on a standard 230 V supply and should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
