Darjo Anthracite Aluminium Bollard Light

The Darjo is a full metre of anthracite aluminium with a clear diffuser head. At that height it works as a marker rather than a floor washer, so a run of them reads as a lit line along a drive or a path from a long way off. The anthracite finish stays quiet against brick, render and planting rather than drawing the eye in daylight, which is what you want from a post that stands all year.

The head throws 1800 lumens down and outward through a conical reflector, which is enough to genuinely light a driveway rather than simply decorate it. Die-cast aluminium and an IP54 rating mean it stands up to weather and the odd knock from a wheelbarrow or a car door. It measures 100 cm high and 16 cm across, and the 18 W LED is built in, included, and runs at a warm 3000 K.

It suits a driveway, front path, entrance or courtyard, and looks most convincing in a repeated run at even spacing rather than as a single post. It runs on a 230 V supply and installation is best carried out by a qualified electrician. Keep the base clear of soil and mulch, and wipe the diffuser occasionally so the output does not dull through a wet winter.
