Deep Drum Iron Ceiling Light, White

Most flush ceiling lights are as shallow as the manufacturer can make them. This one is deliberately not: fourteen centimetres deep, a proper drum in white painted iron that sits on the ceiling with some weight to it. The depth matters visually in a room with a high ceiling, where a thin disc looks stranded, and it gives the light a softer edge as it comes out of the base rather than a hard bright ring.

Two sizes are offered. The 40cm is the general-purpose choice for a bedroom or a dining area; the 50cm suits a living room, a large landing or an open-plan corner that needs a single confident fitting rather than several small ones. Iron rather than aluminium or plastic gives the body its solidity, and the white finish keeps it quiet against a white ceiling while the depth still registers.

Warm and cold white are offered as separate options, and the LED is built in rather than replaceable. It runs on standard 220 to 240 volt mains and mounts flush against the ceiling, so there is no drop to allow for. Fitting is a hardwired job for a qualified electrician, and like most drum fittings it is rated for dry indoor locations only rather than bathroom zones or covered outdoor spaces.
