Digital Alarm Clock with Night Light 15cm

A bedside alarm clock that doubles as a night light, with a wide LED display that stays readable from across the room without being the brightest thing in it. The light panel dims right down, so it can sit at a level that lets you find a glass of water at three in the morning without waking you properly. A small set of soothing sounds is built in for anyone who prefers falling asleep to something other than silence.

The case is moulded ABS and measures 15.1 cm wide, 7.7 cm tall and 4 cm deep, with a 14.5 cm LED display across the front. It runs from a built in 1500 mAh rechargeable cell, from ordinary batteries, or straight from a USB-C lead, so it keeps time through a power cut and needs no mains socket nearby. An energy saving mode drops the display brightness when the room goes dark.

There is no mains lead and no plug, so there is nothing to route past a bed or a cot. The rechargeable cell is sealed inside the case: do not pierce, crush, dismantle or burn it, charge it only with a USB-C lead and adapter in good condition, and leave it uncovered while charging so it can shed heat. If you use removable batteries instead, fit them the right way round and take them out before long storage. Keep the clock dry, wipe it with a dry cloth, and remember it is a household item and not a toy.
