Dimmable LED Ceiling Light 30cm

A flush ceiling light 30 centimetres across with a remote that does two things worth having: it dims, and it shifts the colour of the light between warm and cool white. Most flush fittings do neither, which is why they end up feeling institutional. Being able to drop a bedroom ceiling light to twenty per cent at bedtime and take it back to full for making a bed is the difference between a fitting you tolerate and one you use.

The body is metal with a PVC diffuser covering the LED array, deep enough to hide the individual emitters so the lit face reads as one even disc. Six colourways are offered - white, black and grey for the neutral case, and green, yellow and pink where the ceiling fitting is meant to be part of the decoration rather than disappear into the plaster.

Thirty centimetres is the right size for a bedroom, a study, a landing or a small kitchen. In a larger room, use two rather than one and space them across the ceiling. The remote is supplied. This is a hardwired mains fitting with an integrated, non-replaceable LED, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated first, and fitted only to a ceiling point rated for the weight.
