Dimpled Glass Compact Wall Light

A small wall light, 13.5cm tall and 8cm across, with a dimpled acrylic shade that breaks the light into a soft pattern as it leaves the fitting. The aluminium body is machined flat against the wall so it barely projects, which makes it useful in a tight hallway, on a stair wall, or beside a bed where a swing-arm lamp would catch a shoulder.

Three shade finishes change its character completely. Amber gives a warm, low glow suited to a landing at night; smoke keeps the output softer and greyer; white is the brightest and most neutral of the three. A push-button on the fitting operates it, which is useful where there is no switch on the circuit and avoids running additional wiring for a single light.

A pair either side of a headboard, or three spaced evenly along a corridor, works far better than a single fitting on its own, and the small footprint means several can be used in one room without the wall starting to feel busy or cluttered. Dust the shade with a dry cloth after letting it cool. This is a hardwired fitting; installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician on an isolated circuit.
