Driftwood Jacquard Tassel Sofa Cover

A heavyweight jacquard woven in a driftwood tone, with the pattern built into the cloth rather than printed on it, so it will not wear off the arms and seat front where a sofa gets the most use. Tassels finish the short edges. Seven sizes run from 180 by 130cm up to 180 by 300cm, which is a finer ladder than most covers offer.

The weight is the point. A light cover slides and rucks; this one has enough body to stay where it is put across an evening, and the same weight makes it usable as a throw over a bed or across a chair when it is not on the sofa. That flexibility is worth having when a sofa is eventually replaced and a fitted cover would be wasted.

It takes the dust, the spills and the pet hair that would otherwise reach the upholstery, and unlike the sofa it can go in a washing machine. Wash at 30 degrees with like colours and dry on a low heat. Tie the tassels loosely into bundles before washing, or they will tangle around themselves and need combing out afterwards. Fold it over the back of the sofa rather than tucking it deep into the crevice, and it will stay square through an evening of use.
