Faux Fur Throw Blanket 127 x 152cm

Faux fur is usually a short-pile fabric backed onto something thin and stiff. This one is lined on both sides, which gives it enough body to drape over the back of a sofa and stay there rather than sliding onto the floor, and makes it warm enough to use rather than purely decorative. The pile is long and soft, cut in the style of rabbit fur.

At 127 by 152cm it is a proper throw: long enough to cover one person fully on a sofa, or to lie across the foot of a double bed with an even overhang on both sides. Three colours are offered. Off-white is the brightest and most obviously decorative; smoke is a mid grey that hides use better; sand is a warm neutral that sits well with wood and leather. All three are plain rather than patterned, which is what lets a throw this textured sit alongside a patterned rug or cushion without clashing.

It is machine washable, which is unusual for a long-pile faux fur and the main practical argument for this one over others. Wash it on a cool gentle cycle, on its own, and let it dry flat or over a line rather than in a hot dryer, which mats the pile. Shake it out while damp and the fibres will settle back upright.
