Faux Leather Storage Basket

The small mess is the hard one to solve. Chargers, remote controls, hair clips, pens, keys, receipts: individually trivial, collectively the reason a surface never looks tidy. This basket is sized for exactly that job, roughly thirteen and a half centimetres long by eight and a half wide and fourteen tall, small enough to sit on a desk or a shelf without becoming another piece of clutter itself.

The structure is an iron frame wrapped in a smooth faux leather, so it holds a crisp rectangular shape instead of sagging the way a fabric bin does once it has anything in it. Black handles on each end let you lift it off a shelf one-handed and carry it to wherever the contents are needed. It has enough weight in the frame to stay put when you take something out of it.

Five colours are offered, from black and khaki for something restrained through to blue, green and rose if you want the storage itself to be part of the scheme. Group two or three on a shelf for a tidy run, or keep one on a dressing table and one by the front door. Wipe the surface with a barely damp cloth and dry it; do not soak it or use solvent cleaners.
