Floral Print Cotton Pillowcase Pair

Changing pillowcases is the cheapest way to change a bedroom. The duvet does the heavy lifting, but the pillows are what you actually look at from the doorway, and a pair of printed cases against plain white bedding shifts the whole room without buying a new set. These come as a pair in eight prints, all drawn rather than photographic.

The prints divide roughly into two families. The blooms — sunset, blush, aqua, sky and powder — are loose painted florals in soft washed colours that suit a white or linen-coloured duvet. The ginkgo prints in mint and coral are more graphic, built from the fan-shaped leaf rather than a flower, and they work better against grey or a stronger base colour. Dusk daisy sits between the two.

The fabric is a soft skin-friendly cotton rather than a polycotton blend, so it breathes properly in summer and does not develop the slippery feel that synthetics do after a few washes. Each case measures 48 x 74cm, which fits a standard UK pillow. They are machine washable at a normal cotton temperature and will soften further with each wash. Wash darker prints separately for the first two cycles, and iron on the reverse if you want a crisp finish.
