Floral Wave-Edge Rug

The edge is the point. Instead of a straight hem this rug is cut into a soft irregular wave, so it sits under a bed or a coffee table without drawing a hard rectangle on the floor. The floral pattern is woven through rather than printed on top, which means it does not wear off the high-traffic line between a door and a bed the way a printed rug does within a season.

Two room sizes are offered. The 120 by 180 centimetre suits a single bedside run, a nursery floor or the space in front of a sofa. The 140 by 200 is a proper bedroom rug, wide enough to take both bedside areas and the foot of a double bed, so you step onto something soft on either side. The pile is dense rather than shaggy, which keeps it easy to vacuum.

Five colours are offered: pink, orange, brown, blue and green. The backing is non-slip, which reduces movement on a hard floor, though a non-slip backing does not make a wet or polished floor safe and a separate underlay is worth adding on laminate. The blended fibre resists shedding and vacuums clean. Spot clean spills promptly with a damp cloth and mild detergent rather than soaking the pile.
